Description
The THC saliva test is an easy-to-use rapid test for the indicative detection of cannabis (THC) in saliva. Unlike many urine tests, a saliva test focuses primarily on a near-time assessment of recent consumption. The sample is collected hygienically with a saliva collector and then transferred to a test cassette. After a short waiting time, the result can be read directly on the test.
Key facts at a glance:
-
- Saliva rapid test for THC / cannabis
- Drop test / cassette test with saliva collector
- Cut-off: 12 ng/ml
- Particularly suitable for the indicative assessment of recent consumption
- Easy to use without a urine sample
- Discreet and free shipping from Switzerland
How to use the THC saliva test – step by step
- Remove the saliva collector, collection chamber and test cassette from the packaging.
- Collect saliva with the saliva collector (sponge) by moving it along the inside of the cheek for approx. 3 minutes.
- Place the fully saturated sponge into the collection chamber and close it carefully.
- Place the test cassette on a clean, level surface and open the dropper cap of the collection chamber.
- Add 3 drops of saliva to the designated sample well of the test cassette and start timing.
- Read the result within 10 minutes. After 20 minutes, the result should no longer be interpreted.
Result interpretation
The evaluation is simple and is based on the visible lines in the control and test areas:
- Positive: the control line (C) is visible, the test line (T) is missing → THC was detected.
- Negative: both the control line (C) and the test line (T) are visible → no THC detected or below the detection limit.
- Invalid: the control line (C) does not appear → the test is not valid and should be repeated.
When is a THC saliva test useful?
A THC saliva test is particularly useful when a quick and uncomplicated assessment is needed. Since saliva tests typically detect more recent or current consumption rather than the longer detection windows often associated with classic urine tests, this type of test is especially relevant when a situation needs to be assessed close in time.
Typical use cases:
- when recent cannabis consumption is suspected
- when a urine sample is not desired or not possible
- when hygienic and discreet sample collection is important
What does the THC saliva test detect?
The test is used for the qualitative detection of THC in saliva. THC is the main psychoactive substance in cannabis. Unlike urine tests, which often target metabolites, a saliva test is often used when an indicative assessment of current or recent consumption is required.
| Test type | Saliva rapid test / drop test / cassette test |
| Target substance | THC (cannabis) |

Important information about the saliva sample
The sample is collected using the supplied saliva collector. The sponge should be completely saturated with saliva before it is placed into the collection chamber. If the sample is not used immediately, it can be stored temporarily under suitable conditions.
| Direct testing | ideally on the same day |
| Refrigerator | at 2–8 °C for up to 48 hours |
| Frozen | at -20 °C for up to 72 hours |
| Before use | bring sample and test to room temperature (15–30 °C) |
THC saliva test or urine test – what is the difference?
A saliva test and a urine test do not provide the same type of information. While urine tests usually target metabolites and can therefore often detect consumption further back in time, a saliva test is particularly suitable when a near-time assessment of possible consumption is needed.
In simple terms:
How long is THC detectable in saliva?
The detectability of THC in saliva is generally shorter than in urine. It depends, among other things, on the amount consumed, the time of consumption, individual factors and the characteristics of the test. General time indications should therefore always be understood as guidance only.
