Beschreibung

The PSA rapid test is a qualitative membrane-based immunoassay for the detection of PSA in human whole blood, serum or plasma. It is used as an aid in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.

The level of PSA in the blood can be used to estimate the physiological condition of the prostate, whereby a deviation above the normal state can indicate prostatic hyperplasia. This change in prostate size can be benign or malignant. Regular monitoring of the PSA value is therefore an optimal preventive measure to check one’s own state of health. Early diagnosis can save lives in tumors.

The PSA rapid test is suitable for men between the ages of 40 and 75.

Interpretation of PSA rapid test results

Positive result

If a colored line appears in the „T“ area and a line is also visible in the „C“ area and in the „R“ area, the test is positive and the PSA value is above 3 or over 10ng/ml.

The intensity of the test line may vary depending on the concentration of the sample.

Negative result

If no line appears in the test area „T“, the test is negative. The PSA value is therefore below the limit of 3ng/ml
