Beschreibung

The MDMA Test (Ecstasy, XTC) drug test strip can be used to detect the consumption of MDMA (ecstasy) by means of a urine sample. MDMA mainly causes an increased release of the body’s own messenger substance serotonin, which triggers a feeling of euphoria, lightness and lightheartedness. Another characteristic of MDMA consumption is altered vision and hearing. The result is a feeling free of inhibitions, whereby touch is perceived more intensely. It also increases the need for contact with other people.

MDMA Ecstasy Test Procedure

Remove the MDMA rapid test strip from the packaging and dip it into the urine for about 15 seconds. Then place the MDMA test strip in a dry place and wait for the test result, which can be read after about 3 minutes.

Please refer to the package insert for the exact procedure.

More information about the MDMA drug (ecstasy)

What is MDMA?

MDMA, the abbreviation for 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, is best known as „ecstasy“. It is a laboratory-made drug that produces a similar state of intoxication to the stimulants known as amphetamines. It also produces psychedelic effects, similar to the hallucinogenic LSD. MDMA first became popular in the nightclub scene, techno parties, music festivals and concerts. It is now consumed by a wider range of people. The effects of the drug generally last between 3 and 6 hours.

How is MDMA used?

Most people who consume MDMA take it in the form of pills, tablets, or capsules. The pills can be of different colors and sometimes have cartoon-like motifs. In addition to ecstasy, the term „Molly“ has also become established. Molly is used when only the pure crystalline powder form of MDMA is meant. Usually, this crystalline form is available in capsules. Not uncommon and correspondingly dangerous is the „stretching“ of the ingredients with other, other substances.

Effects of MDMA (Ecstasy)

Once an MDMA pill or capsule is taken, it takes about 15 minutes for the drug to enter the bloodstream and reach the brain. MDMA works by increasing the activity of three neurotransmitters (the chemical messengers of brain cells): serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine.

Serotonin plays a role in controlling mood, aggression, sexual activity, sleep, and pain perception. The extra serotonin released by MDMA is likely to have a mood-boosting effect on consumers. People who consume MDMA may feel very alert and energetic at first. Some experience an altered sense of time, and others experience changes in perception, such as a more intense sense of touch.

Serotonin also triggers the release of the hormones oxytocin and vasopressin, which play a role in feelings of love, sexual arousal, and trust. This could be the reason why consumers report an increased feeling of emotional closeness and empathy.

Dopamine: Helps control movement, motivation, emotions, and sensations such as pleasure. The extra dopamine is associated with a persistent craving for the drug.

Norepinephrine increases heart rate and blood pressure, which is particularly risky for people with heart and circulatory problems.
Because MDMA increases the activity of these chemicals, some consumers experience negative effects. You may become anxious and restless, sweating, shivering, or feeling weak or dizzy.

Even those who don’t feel any negative effects while using it can experience dire after-effects. Confusion, depression, sleep disorders, drug addiction, and anxiety can still occur weeks later because the serotonin surge caused by MDMA reduces the brain’s supply of this important substance.

Short-term effects

The changes that take place in the brain when MDMA is consumed affect the consumer in a number of ways. These include:

  • Increase in heart rate and blood pressure
  • Muscle tension
  • Teeth grinding
  • decreased inhibition threshold (doing things and making decisions that you wouldn’t normally do)
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Blurred vision
  • Dizziness and fainting
  • Chills or sweating
  • Increased body temperature (can lead to severe heart, liver, or kidney problems)
  • increased risk of unprotected sex

Since MDMA is not always broken down in the body, it can disrupt its own metabolism. This can cause harmful amounts of the drug to accumulate in the body if it is taken repeatedly within short periods of time. High amounts of the drug in the bloodstream can increase the risk of seizures and interfere with the heart’s ability to beat normally.

When MDMA is mixed with alcohol, some of the effects of alcohol can be attenuated.
