Information on the individual drugs:

Morphine:

Morphine, also known as morphine , is one of the opioids. Morphine is a medication that is mainly given to relieve moderate to severe pain. Originally, morphine comes from the milky sap of the plant Papaver somniferum (opium poppy). In medicine, it is available in the form of tablets, capsules, syrup, suspension, suppositories, drops or as an injection. Morphine is physically and psychologically addictive. For this reason, morphine is subject to the Narcotics Act. Morphine has analgesic, antitussive, sedative, tranquilizing, respiratory depressant, miotic, antidiuretic, emetic and antiemetic effects. As with all opioids, their effect is based on binding to opioid receptors, especially the μ receptor.

Spice K2:

Spice refers to a drug that consists of synthetic cannabinoids as well as various dried plant parts. Spice is particularly used as a substitute for cannabis products.

Cocaine:

Cocaine is extracted from the leaves of the coca bush. As a powder (coke), it is snorted through the nose with the help of a tube. Cocaine can also be injected or smoked after further processing steps (cocaine base, crack). Among other things, consumption is sometimes associated with serious health risks.

Opiates:

Opiates are psychoactive substances. They are extracted from the milky sap of the opium poppy, the juice containing the actual raw opium, which consists mainly of morphine & cod. siccum.

Opioids are synthetically produced substances. They have a similar effect to morphine.

THC:

THC is the abbreviation of tetrahydrocannabinol. A strong active ingredient of the cannabis plant. It belongs to the genus of the hemp family and causes a psychoactive effect. The cannabis plant exists as a male or female plant, with only the female form containing enough THC to produce an intoxication-like state. The most well-known forms of consumption of cannabis are in the form of marijuana, which refers to dried flowers and leaves of the cannabis plant. Hashish, which is obtained from pressed resin of the inflorescences, is just as often consumed.

Benzodiazepines:

Benzodiazepines are prescription drugs that are used as sedatives or sleep aids. Due to the relaxing effect, they are also known as „tranquilizers“. Benzodiazepines, or „benzos“ for short, should only be taken for a short time, otherwise physical and, above all, psychological dependence can develop. Benzos are also often abused as an active ingredient for „knockout drops“.

MDMA:

MDMA (Ecstasy, XTC) is a synthetic amphetamine derivative. After taking MDMA, a euphoric effect can be noticed after approx. 30 to 40 minutes. This effect is further intensified and has an impact on one’s own entactogenic but also empathogenic sensations. The MDMA effect is often described by the users with feelings of happiness, satisfaction and an increased willingness to help.

EDDP (ethylidene-dimethyl-diphenylpyrolidine) – detection of methadone abuse

EDDP is a major metabolite of methadone, a synthetic opioid commonly used in substitution therapy for heroin addiction. Since EDDP only appears in the urine when methadone has actually been metabolized , the detection of this substance serves as a sure indication of real ingestion (not just manipulation by external supply of methadone into the sample).

A drug test for EDDP is therefore particularly forgery-proof and is used primarily in medical, therapeutic and forensic contexts to monitor the regular intake of methadone or to detect misuse.

Phencyclidine (PCP) – dangerous dissociative with a high risk of abuse

Phencyclidine, also known as PCP or „Angel Dust“, is a synthetic substance with strong dissociative and hallucinogenic effects. Originally developed as an anesthetic, it was withdrawn from the medical market due to severe psychological side effects such as delusions, aggressiveness and loss of reality .

PCP is now consumed illegally – usually smoked or snorted – and can lead to erratic behavior even in small doses. Due to its high toxicity and risk of addiction , it is banned in many countries.

Oxycodone – strong painkiller with high potential for abuse

Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic opioid that is used medically to treat severe pain – for example after surgery or in chronic diseases. It has a strong pain-relieving effect, but also sedative and euphoric, which leads to a high risk of abuse and dependence .

Oxycodone circulates under various trade names (e.g. OxyContin®, Percocet®) and is increasingly consumed illegally, often chewed, snorted or injected to enhance the effect. An overdose can lead to respiratory depression and death .

Amphetamine – stimulant substance with risk of abuse

Amphetamine is a synthetic stimulant that acts centrally on the nervous system. It increases alertness, concentration and performance, but is also abused because of its euphoric effect – often under street names such as „Speed“.

Medically, amphetamine is used in lower doses for ADHD and narcolepsy. In the drug scene, on the other hand, it is often snorted or swallowed in powder form, less often injected. The abuse can lead to palpitations, insomnia, anxiety and, in higher doses, psychotic states .

Methamphetamine – highly potent stimulant with extreme addictive potential

Methamphetamine, also known as crystal meth, is a synthetic stimulant with significantly stronger effects than amphetamine. It leads to intense euphoria, increased performance and increased self-confidence – but at the same time to high physical and psychological damage.

Methamphetamine is usually smoked, snorted or injected in crystalline form. Consumption can lead to severe dependence after just a few applications. Long-term consequences include weight loss, tooth decay („meth mouth“), psychosis and severe organ damage.
